During the March San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees Regular Meeting, Dr. Farrah Gomez, Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, provided an academic update on the district's Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Bilingual program. Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, San Angelo ISD will expand our free, eligibility-based Pre-K program to include a tuition-based program. Additionally, Dr. Gomez provided updates on campus locations for Pre-Kindergarten, the Transitional Bilingual Program and Early Childhood Special Education.

San Angelo ISD proudly hosted 66 teams from across the state for the 64th San Angelo Relays competing in hurdles, relays, sprints, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and high jump last Friday and Saturday.

Fifty third-grade students at McGill Elementary are now published authors thanks to the efforts of Lynzey Norman, a third-grade teacher at McGill Elementary. For the second year, Mrs. Norman guided all McGill third-graders as they wrote, illustrated and published a book of poems.
Two teachers at Santa Rita Elementary are taking a more physical approach in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month. Santa Rita music teacher, Jonathan Ochoa, and Santa Rita P.E. teacher, Patrick McGee, have joined forces and combined their music and P.E. classes to orchestrate student-created light paintings.
