SAISD Educators Participate in 3-Day Conference for Professional Learning & Collaboration

San Angelo ISD hosted nearly 700 of our Difference Maker educators for three days of professional learning and collaboration at the sixth annual SAISD Learning Palooza conference from June 6-8, 2022. The conference is designed around the District’s commitment to support lifelong learning and continuous improvement, while providing opportunities to bring innovation and resources to our educators and into our classrooms.

At the conference, educators were given the opportunity to select from 185 sessions covering a variety of topics in preparation of the upcoming school year, including best practices in instruction, content design, classroom management, preparation of future-ready learners, integration of technology, how to utilize resources and tools like STEMscopes, Education Galaxy, Edgenuity, Scholastic, Apple devices and more.

“I’m so grateful to work for a district that provides so many great opportunities for professional development,” said Lone Star Middle School math teacher Michael McCarthy. “I love that this year I was able to take multiple classes that supported each of my development goals.”

Presenters included leaders in education, both homegrown SAISD leaders and those from District educational partnerships.

“Learning alongside other difference makers and being able to collaborate right along with Education Galaxy representatives to show us how to utilize the program for maximum student growth will definitely make an impact on our teachers and students,” said Stacey Fuentes, Instructional Coach at Alta Loma Elementary.

SAISD thanks our educators for their commitment to furthering the SAISD mission of engaging students in a relevant and inspiring education that produces future-ready graduates, and the SAISD Human Resources and Professional Learning Team for providing our educators an accessible, professional learning event designed with intention, creativity and a breadth of professional opportunities.
