Due to anticipated icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses and continued precipitation and freezing temperatures throughout the afternoon, San Angelo ISD students and staff will have an early release today, January 30, 2023.

For the safety of our young drivers, high school students at Central High School, Central High School on Oakes, and Lake View High School and middle school students at Glenn Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, and Lone Star Middle School will have an early release at 11:30 am today, January 30, 2023. Buses will run at 12:00 pm noon. Lunch will be served and available in the cafeteria until 12:00 pm noon.

Elementary will be released and parents/guardians may begin picking up their elementary students at 1:00 pm today, January 30, 2023. Buses will run shortly after release and lunch will be served.

All games and athletic events have been canceled.

SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service, TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety and other local agencies. The safety of our students and staff are our top priority.

A decision regarding potential delays/closures for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, will be made later this evening. It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous.
